Its time to sow summer flowers seeds in your garden

 

Plant your summer flowers:

Amaranthus:

Amaranthus is an annual plant with height (36-60 inches). It includes plants used for food, foliage and flowers. Direct sow it after frost at 28c. You can start its germination at (24-27 c) in green house and grow them for six to seven weeks at 18 c.

Flower color:

Red and green

Vase life:

Seven to ten days.



Amobium Alatum:

Start seeds after last frost. Transplant or thin to 9 inch.

Flower color: white

It can be used as fresh filler.



Carthamus Tinctorius (safflower):

Direct sow seed in soil after last frost. Keep distance 12 inch apart.

Flower color:

Orange, yellow and white

It can be used as fresh or dry.



Celosia Argentia:

It is annual flower with 24-36 inch. There are three varieties of celosia.

1.       Cristata


2.       Plumose


3.       Spicata


Direct sow after last frost

It can be grown on 6 inch space for single stemmed. For multi stemmed crop they can be spaced at 12-18 inch. Cockscomb celosia can be harvested when fully open. The plumed and spicata will be harvested more quickly.
