Mosquito repellant plants

Mosquito repellent plants:

Several plants are known to effectively repel mosquitoes. Common choices include citronella, lavender, marigolds, rosemary, basil, and peppermint. Citronella is a well-known mosquito repellent due to its strong, lemony scent, which can mask other odors that attract mosquitoes. Other plants like lavender, marigolds, and peppermint also have scents that mosquitoes find unappealing.

Citrronella plant (Cymbopogon nardus)

This is a popular choice, often used in candles and sprays, and its strong, lemony scent helps to deter mosquitoes.

Lavender (Hyptis emoryi)

Lavender's fragrant aroma is not only relaxing but also repels mosquitoes.

Desert lavender is a medium to large sized shrub that when flowering attracts a whole assortment of pollinators, particularly bees. When the plant is in full bloom the lavender scent is heady.

Marigold: Tagetes erecta

Marigolds are known to deter various insects, including mosquitoes, due to their strong fragrance and the compounds they produce. Placing marigolds near patios, entrances, or other areas where mosquitoes are prevalent can help keep them away. Marigolds can also be used in companion planting with vegetable gardens, as they are believed to deter pests that might harm other plants.

Rosemary Salvia rosmarinus

You can combine rosemary oil with other ingredients like apple cider vinegar and water to create a spray.
